Hakan, You're an invaluable resource for me in anwering my questions. Thank you.

: : Today I found a CD on CDNow.com called Bent Persson plays Louis Armstong's 50 Hot Choruses. It's on a label called Kenneth Records. Does anyone know what this is? He is a traditional jazz trumpet player. If it is merely him playing choruses by Satch that are already on record, it could be passed up. BUT if its some choruses from the seemingly-lost sheet music book Louis Armstrong's 125 Jazz Choruses for Hot Trumpet, published in the late '20s, then it would be a real find, something like the Rosetta Stone.

: HF: There are two CDs where one can listen to how (most of) Louis´ Hot Choruses and breaks that were published in the 20s by Melrose Brothers could have sounded when they were recorded on cylinders. The Armstrong parts are played by trumpeter and Armstrong specialist Bent Persson and are cleverly fitted into the arrangements of the tunes. I think Bent Persson on these CDs recreates the playing of the young Louis as accurately as is possible. The CDs are Kenneth CKS 3411 and Kenneth CKS 3413. Recommended!
